Minneapolis, Minnesota - October 3, 2009 - The Minnesota High School Soccer Coaches Association has announced 2008 COY nominees for the fall season which included Eurotech® Associate Director, Rick Barnhill. Barnhill, an 18-year veteran with the globally recognized soccer education and sports travel agency is a Section 2 nominee as the current Girl’s Head Coach for Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, located just south of the twin cities. Fellow nominee and coaching colleague with Mankato West High School, Crissy Makela states, "Rick has consistently coached his team to the top of the section. His team advanced to the State Tournament last year and this year’s team is just as strong and technically sound as last year’s team. As rosters change from year to year, Rick has consistently coached his team to maintain that high level of performance which is not easy to accomplish."
As a Eurotech® Associate Director, Barnhill conducts promotional clinics throughout the year in the U.S. and Canada on behalf of the company as well as coaching in their popular residential academy programs held nationally during the summer months. Barnhill is a full-time coach and has worked with numerous youth, high school and college teams at every level including professionally with the Tallahasee Scorpions of the now defunct Eastern Indoor Soccer League (EISL), one of North America’s most popular professional indoor soccer leagues in the 90’s as well as a stint with the Major League Soccer (MLS) Miami Fusion where he worked with the goalkeepers.
